In November, an Arctic Data Portal was launched to improve the availability, quality, timeliness, and accessibility of essential marine in situ data from the Arctic region.
The Portal is a joint initiative of
EMODnet,
CMEMS,
INSTAC,
Copernicus In Situ Coordination Group and
EuroGOOS, and was implemented under
EMODnet Physics. The project started with two events: a kick-off meeting (20 November) bringing together representatives from Copernicus, EMODnet,
European Polar Board, the
Southern Ocean Observing System, the
Arctic Data Committee, and EuroGOOS, and a dedicated webinar (27 November) attracting over 100 attendees in 24 countries to discuss the role of the Portal for unlocking new data that will improve the marine services in the Arctic. Explore the Portal
